The aging process can not be stopped. It is understandable that there are many anti-aging products on the market because most of us like to hold on to a younger look. I like the fact that I can color my hair just because it makes me feel good. Most of us also know that when we make certain life style choices we can significantly increase our chances of enjoying more years of good health.Yet many people do not take good care of themselves. A good example is the epidemic of obesity. I think it has to do with the fact that we live in a culture where we look for quick fixes. And there is plenty out there that answers those yearnings. There is Botox, face lifts, pills, tummy tucks, clothing and food enticements etc.
They all promise us that when we use them we will look or feel better. Yet unfortunately for many people these fixes do not bring the hoped for feeling of lasting happiness.I am reminded of a woman in her late fifties that I once knew. She had different parts of her face and body adjusted and as soon as she was done with one she started thinking of what to do next - some other nip or tuck that would make her feel good. Indeed at first she did feel better but it didn't last. Sadly, she refused to put time into struggling to find positive solutions for her loneliness and lack of self confidence. The best anti-aging solution is having a positive attitude that allows one to enjoy life. With such an attitude one can then decide which of the anti-aging product to use but not see them as being the answer against aging. The exciting thing is that one can learn to develop this mindset regardless of age.
A positive growth focused mindset is the foundation for healthy and happy aging.
